About the innovation
The Literature Student Learning Space (SLS) guide is a foldout A3 document, designed and printed by the team. It features:
The A-Level Literature resources available on the SLS, conveyed through a balance of text and visuals that give a holistic representation of the resources
The categorisation of resources according to learning outcomes and the three genres of prose, poetry, and drama, enabling teachers to pick out resources that they need
A glossary that allows teachers to identify which resources feature set texts from the syllabus
A QR code directing teachers to the SLS A-Level Literature landing page

How it came about
The team wanted to raise teachers' awareness of available SLS resources and facilitate their access to them. Though the SLS is a digital platform, we felt that a hard copy guide would support easy reference, as teachers can pin them up at their desks.
Purpose
Innovation arises out of need. We wanted to engage a key stakeholder - our teachers. We sought to understand the reality of teaching and learning and the constraints teachers face in using the SLS, which motivated us to create a resource that could help them save time by leveraging available resources.
Overcoming challenges
As this was an in-house project, we had to take on the dual role of designers and curriculum officers to create an aesthetically pleasing and functional guide. Additionally, teacher engagement does not end with the guide - the team must continue to raise awareness and facilitate teachers' use of the SLS.

Love the simple yet attractive approach to brochure design! Goes to show that MOE can design beautiful things 😉
